As attractive entertainment, the origins of cinema lie in the magic lantern and shadow of puppet shows that had been around as early as the 17Th century. Scientifically, its history initiates with Joseph Plateau's theories of the persistence of vision in 1829 and the stroboscopie effect of 1836, which he demonstrated a device he named a phenakisocphia. This machine illustrated a wheel that when spun it transmitted the illusion of motion. A similar device, the zoetrope or ("wheel of life") was invented by, William George Horner in the 1830s. By the 1870s many as 40 still cameras to photograph motion was only use for the study of animals. In 1880 he exhibited some of these photographs series with a sort of projecting phenakisdscope that he called a zooprasiscope.
Although European and American inventors were working on the idea, simultaneously credited for the invention of the motion picture camara is most given to the Thomas Edison laboratories. 1889 Edison's assistant, William Kennedy Lauriedickson had synthesized Edisons' idea into workable motion picture camera who he called a KINETOGRAPH following the device for just to view his short films called kineoscopea a peep-show box with a scope on top.
Thanks to all that production, story telling has become one of our favorite entertainment and nonetheless we can actualize an album of memories.
